Krampnitz Kaserne (Germany)
Krampnitz Kaserne was German military complex during the rearmament period, it has also been used as a film set for “Enemy at the Gates”, “Inglorius Basterds”, “Valkyrie” and “The Monuments Men”. It was used by the Germans until the end of the Second World War. After the war it was used by Soviet troops until its abandonment in 1992.
The Swastika in the roof has many rumours from being added when this was part of Hitlers command centre through to it being a prop created for films. If you know the truth behind this please add it to the comments.
Since 1992 this vast site has remained abandoned, however since 2013 Potsdam has plans to create an urban development area.
